Double Portraits:
A partnership project with Kirklees Museums and Galleries that involved pairing Holocaust survivors with recent refugees and interviewing them in conversation with each other. The resulting DVD is used in schools to support citizenship education and particularly to draw important parallels between the experiences of recent refugees and those fleeing Nazi Germany in the 1930’s.
Food for Thought:
Members spoke of their experiences relating to specific foods that held memories for them at small gatherings on behalf of Kirklees Museums Galleries. DVDs have been distributed to schools and community groups to promote discussion about creating a culture of tolerance.
“I think everyone of us has the responsibility to do our utmost to remember those events and to make sure somehow, in one way or another, that they never occur again.” Eugene Black
