'Leap into Spring' with Mitzvahs & Marrows

Join the Mitzvahs & Marrows allotment group at their 'Leap into Spring' Produce Sale on 29th February, 12.30-3pm at the MAZCC.

Mitzvahs & Marrows is the newly re-named allotment group launched by Neshama (LJWB's Mental Health Services) in 2009.

The group meets weekly to dig, plant, grow and harvest fruit and vegetables. Evidenece suggests people are mentally stimulated by gardening activities often enabling them to cope better with existing health problems, as well as feeling less prone to low moods depression.

All produce will be homegrown by members of the group and will be available to purchase on the day, including, delicious homemade Kosher chutneys, cards, card kits, grow your own pots, mugs, keyrings and more.

Participating in a gardening activity can be highly theraputic, lifting depression, reducing isolation and offering a highly effective form of exercise.

All proceeds will go to Neshama. For further details contact Clare Sanderson on 0113 218 5851.

The 'Mitvazhs & Marrows' group also  meet up every week at the computer group run at the MAZCC in order to contribute to a weekly blog. You can follow the group at www.mitzvahsandmarrows.wordpress.com
