Manny Cussins Family Project Cooking up a Storm

The Manny Cussins Family Project 'Little Book of Feel Good Food' has been put together by Sarah Wilcock, Community Support Worker, containing delicious recipes that have been donated by LJWB staff and families from the within the Community.

After the success of her 'Mix-it-Make–it' pre-school children cookery sessions at the Community Centre Sarah had the idea of putting together a cook book to enable families to cook together.

"We found that when involving children in the preparation of their food it not only encouraged them to try new things, it also helped them to develop their literacy and numeracy skills as they followed the recipes and gave them a better understanding about where their food comes from", said Sarah.

The money raised from the sale of the cookery book will go towards replacing toys in the playroom and will also enable us to buy special toys for children with additional needs.

We hope that you will enjoy using the book, and cooking together as a family, as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.

The cost of the book is £8.00 and contains over 60 recipes.
