The Leeds Jewish Cultural and Resource Centre
The Leeds Jewish Cultural and Resource Centre provides a range of resources and materials for the whole community from its new home on the 2nd floor of The Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre. Makor runs a wide range of activities of Jewish and Israel related interest including Hebrew classes (Ulpan), a writers’ group, and the Leeds Jewish International Theatre Festival, a major annual event within the City.

The Shaliach (m) or Shlicha (f) is an emissary from Israel, sent by the Jewish Agency for a 2 year term to a Jewish community in the Diaspora. Shlichut encompasses many activities, aimed at strengthening Jewish-Zionist identity with Israel at its heart.
