Leeds Jewish Welfare Board Community

Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, in conjunction with the Alzheimers Society, is starting up a dementia café, ‘Conservatory Dcaf’ at the MAZCC on the last Tuesday of every month, starting 28 June, 2-4pm.

The café, which will be run by volunteers and health care professionals, is open to the Community to provide advice and support for people affected by dementia and their carers.  Café organiser, Anita Johnson, a member of LJWB’s Moorcare Community Service Team, said, ‘dementia cafes have sprung up over the last few years, to meet the needs of carers and people with dementia.  We hope to create an old fashioned café atmosphere, a relaxed environment where people with dementia and their carers can share their experiences.  It is intended that future dates will include reminiscence sessions and singalongs.’

For further details please contact Anita Johnson on 0113 2185854.
